Justin Trudeau aced it in Davos with his address and Q&A. He showed the world that Canada has a positive approach to the global worries. He has rebranded Canada or returned to the Canadian brand we had before negative politics ruled our outlook. Trudeau has today shown global business that we are the country to place their investment funds. Now, with his help, our private sector needs to step up and sell Canadian goods and services to the world!

Well, who had thunk that Justin would get a majority government. To be honest I knew he could and would win but this is over the top wonderful. Congratulations to Justin and all the Liberal team for all the hope and hard work that went into becoming our government. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT!

It is with a heavy heart, due to personal reasons and a very large increase in solar installation contracts that I must install over the next 8 months, I cannot do justice to run a successful political campaign and have therefore withdrawn from the nomination race. I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the last 4 years. I am getting many message from local Liberals stating their disappointment with my decision but it is not to say that I may be back for the next round when my situation opens up and clears a path to representing DC in Ottawa. I hope all Liberals, Greens, and NDP voters will unite in DC to support Ed Crewson.

Yes and I will be out of a job so if you vote other than Liberal I'm coming to your house to have diner, lunch and breakfast. Just in the renewable energy business alone in Ontario we will lose 20 Thousand Jobs. Some of us don't like wind turbines and I get that but what choice do we have? More nuclear? We are still digging ourselves out of the debt from the last plants we built and what about the waste. Where do we store it for 10,000 years? YOUR BACK YARD? I think a little solar or a wind dancer would be preferable. Oil and gas, nope, more pollution to screw up our weather even more and all that sickness we put on our kids and grand kids. Hudak's 1 million jobs has been proven by his bad math to equal 125,000 jobs and then cut 100,000 public service employees, the OPA and closing down the renewables industry, there will be not be any gain in employment and less nurses, firefighters, repaired roads and bridges which totals a lot more jobs gone, plus support infrastructure. The Dalton Liberals screwed up by signing a stupid contract but they moved this Province forward in so many ways, we don't want to slide backward. Jim Flaherty, federal finance minister, spent money on infrastructure to keep our sensitive economy humming along so what is wrong with Kathleen's plan to do the same. We liked what Jim did so let's see what Kathleen can do. She is open and honest and not like other politicians so PLEASE VOTE LIBERAL ON Thursday, AND KEEP US MOVING PROGRESSIVLY FORWARD.

Stephen Harper skirts the issues with no real comment on Senators expenses nor his assistant's conduct lending $90,000, nor what and when he knew about the his caucus members, cheating Canadians. Canadians need answers, not rhetoric on how he wants to change the system for future issues. WATCH FOR HIM TO PROROGUE PARLIAMENT AGAIN to duck the firestorm coming his way, after not taking and answering direct questions. He will prorogue to avoid the entire affair and put a new face on his government. Hoping we will forget and forgive. Not going to happen under a Liberal watch!

Just asking, did anyone in Dufferin-Caledon get a phone call about a moved polling station during the last election? Or, did you get a rude call at a strange time of day or night that was inconvenient? This is a trick used by US Republicans and makes a joke of our democratic system. Not in Canada! Please get back to me, if so!

A statement tonight from MP David Tilson on the defeat of the long gun registry! The Liberals are accusing the Conservatives of being insensitive for planning a party to celebrate the passage of a bill that will scrap the long-gun registry. Many Conservative MPs have been lobbying for the end of the registry since they arrived on Parliament Hill. They say a reception in the Prime Minister’s quarters is just a way to mark the end of a long effort. “When you promise something for so many years and you are stymied by the opposition to get that passed, it is a celebration,” Ontario Conservative MP David Tilson said. Liberal interim leader Bob Rae called the festive approach “completely, completely inappropriate in the circumstances,” and “completely insensitive to the sentiment of the good majority of Canadians.” Rae said it is just a further demonstrations that the Conservatives are not in touch with public opinion on the issue. Tilson said he would tell victims of gun violence who may feel disgusted by the celebratory mood that the gun registry has never stopped a crime. And despite the overwhelming majority of police organizations coming out in support of the long-gun registry, Tilson said he believes rank and file members support the Conservatives’ plans. “The (police) chief of my community wants the long gun registry to stay but I talk privately to the rank and file officers and they don’t feel the same way,” he added. Top of Form Bottom of Form Alberta Conservative MP Leon Benoit said Wednesday’s celebration were just the natural way to mark the end of a long and difficult journey. One MP joked they’d be doing “shooters” after the vote. Tory MP Jim Hillyer made headlines last year after he celebrated a gun registry vote with a finger guns gesture. After the video went viral, Hillyer said he had not meant to offend anyone and that blame should land on the person behind the video for posting it on the anniversary of the Montreal Massacre. New Brunswick MP John Williamson said he heard there was a “reception” but that he wouldn’t call it a “party.” “The real story tonight is that we are finally getting rid of this long gun registry,” he said. MPs will cast their final votes on the bill to scrap the long-gun registry Wednesday evening. It is assured passage when it is introduced in the Senate, where the Tories also have a healthy majority.
