At last night's City Council meeting, students from Ecole Kwayhquitlum Middle School came to request a proclamation for Real Acts of Caring Week, February 14-20, 2016. And to support their initiative, they brought home-made cookies for City Council, staff and all the residents in the audience! Its a pleasure to see these students, on an annual basis, promoting caring and kindness!

Mayor Clay explains how your taxes are calculated. A higher assessment doesn't necessarily have a correlating tax increase. https://www.facebook.com/ddilworth/posts/10153899751606468

Yes. Yes there was just an earthquake in Vancouver . Please don't call 911 unless there is an emergency. If you are interested in following developments and you have Internet, please search #vancouverearthquake or follow a related thread. Don't waste time talking to a 911 operator to confirm that an earthquake took place or how your bookshelf shook.

If you can help out the residents of the Mountainview community who lost their homes, it would be appreciated!

Can't express enough the appreciation for the tremendous job done by Port Moody Fire Rescue, supported by colleagues from City of Coquitlam in tackling yesterday's fire!

Earlier today the Port Moody Heritage Society and Museum hosted a significant event commemorating #PortMoody soldiers who fought in World War One. Unbelievably, before the first speaker could finish their speech, the protestors showed up to disrupt and derail the event. Completely disrespectful to those that were there honouring our soldiers who fought for the very right to free speech and right to protest that these yahoos were exercising. #hypocrisy
