  Huge thanks to everyone who has helped on the Nunavut NDP campaign, and hi to everyone I've met along the way. Only one promise: to work w/ the GN and NTI to advance the well-being of children in Nunavut -- housing, early childhood development programs, etc. A better Nunavut is possible! And it starts with the kids.

  There's a hilarious line in this article. After our Conservative MP promises "a hydroelectric dam in Iqaluit, a power line and road connecting the Kivalliq with Manitoba, and deepwater anchorage for cargo ships in Iqaluit", the article says that "while Aglukkaq wouldn’t give specific figures, she said there will be room in Conservative budgets to pay for the promises"!

  Good coverage of Saturday night's debate. What Leona doesn't seem to get is that young couples with kids can't sleep on a dock in Pangnirtung, in a research station in Cambridge Bay or in a winter warfare training centre in Resolute. Nunavut desperately needs 2,600 housing units, but for the second year in a row Stephen Harper's Conservatives haven't allocated a single penny for new housing in Nunavut. Shame!
