Why I'm running for President of the Green Party of Canada I am excited about the potential that the Green Party has for positively shaping the world that we live in. As an active member of the Green Party of Canada and the Green Party of Ontario, I have been a three time Candidate, Regional organizer, attendee at various international conferences and elections, and a member of numerous committees. I feel very strongly that we are just beginning to tap what is possible for us. For me, there is one overwhelming key to solving any problem that we as citizens want to tackle at any level of government. People need to be more aware of how their government works, how their money is spent, and how they can be of influence. Citizens need to have more understanding of the options available for how to change their own governance. There is too much power in too few hands in this country and the Greens, more than any other party, are passionate about humbly putting power where it truly belongs - in the hands of citizens. Really. I’ve followed politics long enough to see a disturbing and frustrating pattern that needs to change. Old line parties give eloquent speeches about abuses of power while in opposition, only to see them follow suit when the colour of power changes hands. Green Party members and local riding associations can make a tremendous difference by putting their collective energies and experience together in order to inject new meaning into the term democracy. The public is starving for this. Greens around the world have delivered on this promise of inclusive governance in a principled fashion. Our one MP, Elizabeth May, is already demonstrating what a better democracy should be about, and she is doing so with incredible skill and passion. I look forward to your ongoing input as to how to we, as members of the Green Party of Canada, can collectively continue to shape a better, a more stable, and a more sustainable Canada.Jun 14, 2012 7:13 am | Ontario, Ottawa West—Nepean

You can vote twice today. Do the real thing of course and then help showcase a better way of voting where there is no party politics. Try Ranked Choice Voting and you will see how much better this is as an expression of your intent when you are not confined to "One X".
