libThe Barrie Advance published a story Monday evening saying the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) sent unsolicited information about a money-losing speech Mr. Trudeau gave to a local college. The information was sent with a request that the PMO only be cited as “a source,” and included a jab that Mr. Trudeau’s choice hotel had a yoga studio. “I have enclosed further materials that demonstrate the scope of this practice, cost on the organizations, and in many cases, poor outcomes and large deficits as a result of his speaking tour,” the e-mail said, according to the Barrie Advance story. Barrie is about an hour north of Toronto.19 hours ago | British Columbia, Vancouver East

libApache spokesman Paul Wyke called the spill “salty water,” with “trace amounts” of oil. Information compiled by the Dene Tha suggests the toxic substance contains hydrocarbons, high levels of salt, sulphurous compounds, metals and naturally occurring radioactive materials, along with chemical solvents and additives used by the oil industry. “Every plant and tree died” in the area touched by the spill, said James Ahnassay, chief of the Dene Tha First Nation, whose members run traplines in an area that has seen oil and gas development since the 1950s. The leak follows a pair of other major spills in the region, including 800,000 litres of an oil-water mixture from Pace Oil and Gas Ltd., and nearly 3.5 million litres of oil from a pipeline run by Plains Midstream Canada.Fri 11:51 am | British Columbia, Vancouver East
