TRUDEAU SHOULD APOLOGIZE TO UNEMPLOYED SASKATCHEWAN WORKERS

Leaving the Southern Saskatchewan oil patch out of the new EI program is cold-hearted and vindictive. The Liberals are defending it as 'cold hard mathematics.' They are right. Their math is very cold. And it doesn't reflect the cold hard reality on the ground in the energy-producing areas of Saskatchewan. An unfair solution is no solution at all. But the bigger betrayal is the blocking of pipeline projects and the imposition of the carbon tax. There is no substitute for a job, and those jobs will only come back if we have a government that believes in our oil and gas sector.

LIBERAL AGRICULTURE POLICY IN BUDGET 2016 From the Liberal budget speech: "Wherever the sun shines and the wind blows, farmers and landowners can become energy producers, particularly for rural regions hurt by falling commodity prices." Nice imagery, but consider: The Liberals have backed off free trade deals and are promising a carbon tax. Both those policies spell trouble for ag producers. But the Liberals have a plan for you: windmills and solar panels.

The Liberals are borrowing far more than they told us they would during the election. None of the proposed spending is actually going to a jobs plan. Just massive new debt, and higher taxes to pay it back. It's going to be a long four years.

The Liberal budget is a betrayal of the middle class. Moms and dads can no longer claim fitness and arts tax credits for their kids, income splitting is gone, payroll taxes are going up, the education textbook credit has been axed, and Universal Childcare cheques aren’t universal anymore. The budget confirms Liberals can’t be trusted to manage the economy. They promised “modest” borrowing, not an out of control spending spree. Canadians didn’t vote for this.

There it is. Higher taxes. Libs grabbing more of your money. Never forget: the government doesn't have a revenue problem. It has a SPENDING problem! $3 billion more out of the economy into bureaucrats' hands.

The Liberals are already raising taxes. They are spending billions on their pet projects while they kill jobs and drive out investments. It is not just frustrating, it is scary what they are doing to hard working Canadians. Is this what people voted for when they voted Liberal?

The Liberals have betrayed the middle class. Gone are tax credits for kids sports...gone is tax fairness for married couples...gone is the Universal childcare benefit. Replaced with higher taxes on small business and a plan for a carbon tax. Oh, and a massive deficit that my kids will have to pay back.

Yes...a fundamentally different approach. Conservatives lowered taxes and balanced the budget. Libs are raising taxes and running deficits. They are blocking job-creating projects and raising job-killing taxes and hoping that borrowing $30 billion will fix the problem.

Henry came along to my interview with CTV about the upcoming budget. On Tuesday, we'll all find out how much Trudeau is borrowing. Trudeau Sr. left my generation with hundreds of billions in debt. Now Justin will be leaving Henry's generation with billions more. Deficits can't create jobs, and borrowed money today means job-killing taxes tomorrow.

The only people who don't believe that the Conservatives left the Liberals a balanced budget are Liberals! The independent finance officials say we left a balanced budget. And now the Parliamentary Budget Officer said the same thing. Tuesday's deficit will be big, unnecessary and the result of Liberal decisions.

Just did an interview for Global National. Talking about the upcoming Liberal budget - they sure plan to borrow a lot of money. I'm hearing lots of concerns from my constituents who know that borrowed money has to be paid back. Sadly, that means higher taxes for families. Only Conservatives will fight to keep money in your pocket!

As the Liberals consider a billion dollar bailout for Bombardier, Conservatives are pointing out market-based solutions that could help the Quebec aeropsace industry that don't require tax dollars for subsidies. However, to please the waterfront dwellers of Toronto, the LIberals are blocking an expansion that would mean more sales of Bombardier jets.

This is a must read to understand the importance of our energy sector and the need for Energy East. Even with today's lower price. Pullout quote: "It’s an argument that drives anti-oil sands crusaders berserk, because they want the alternative to pipelines to be zero oil. It isn’t. They are not the boss of Chinese, Indian, Indonesian or Brazilian energy consumption."

I was asked today if Saskatchewan should support a Carbon Tax since other provinces like Alberta and Ontario have one. Won't Saskatchewan be an outlier if we don't adopt one? First of all, nobody should be taking advice from Rachel Notley and Kathleen Wynne. Refusing to adopt a carbon tax may make Saskatchewan an outlier, but only in the sense that everyone else is moving away from common sense policies. If every one of your friends jumps off a bridge, you staying on dry land makes you an outlier. But who's the smart one? We'll stay right here while the NDP and Liberals across the country move towards terrible economic choices.

Andrew Scheer calls for an opt-out for Saskatchewan on any Trudeau carbon tax scheme. “The absolute worse thing one can do during an economic downturn is to burden Canadians with higher taxes. The proposed national carbon tax would kneecap the energy sector. Canadians out of work across the country expect the government to grow the economy, not add additional burdens. This is a terrible idea that could not come at a worse time.”

How do you have an effective foreign policy when you leave the tough stuff to our allies?
