    David Merner, the new President of the BC branch of the Liberal Party of Canada, is coming to Prince George to meet with local Liberals to gather their input into the rebuilding of the party. We are meeting at Esther's Inn on December 12, Sunday, at 12 noon. All local people interested fighting back against Harper's agenda for Canada should join us to share their ideas. We are also going to be choosing delegates to the upcoming biennial convention.

    The more I reflect on the Harper majority the more anxious I become. Harper and his ilk are bullies. I have no faith he will govern with restraint. He deliberately undermined our democratic principles and institutions and now that he has a majority will do so with even more vigour. Those who think otherwise are naive. Canada has become something of a weakened country by Monday's results, and I fear for our future.

    so, do we need to move more to the left or the right? do we need to court urban or rural voters? What policies could we adopt that would allow us to maintain our Liberal identity while appealing to small "c" conservatives? what does it mean to be a Liberal?
