Hello Friends - Just an update - I welcome my new responsibilities as Senior Petroleum Analyst with Gasbuddy.com which complements my work in creating and developing tomorrowsgaspricetoday.com. This also means a shift away from 37 years in politics and public service Its good timing too, given expressions of thought and conscience, once prized and respected as a measure of one's character in representing, has all but been sacrificed for short term political expediency. I now look forward to providing all Canadians a better and objective understanding of how energy industries work, all the while helping everyone save a few dollars based on the gas price prediction model I pioneered over 8 years ago.

What a busy week with fuel prices. The total impact in the rise of electricity, nat gas/propane and now transportation fuel has yet to be properly understood by pundits and policy makers. Predicting "when" these things happen is of some help to ordinary Canadians, but what's truly needed is to get a better handle on answering "why" Higher energy costs will impact Canadian families by an additional $2,000+ in 2014. That is an unacceptable burden for most. It raises serious questions about the systematic dismantling of Canada's petroleum energy infrastructure over the last decade, built and paid for by our parents - a gift bequeathed to our generation to gain a strategic economic advantage. It begs for greater accountability which starts with a timely and effective weekly energy inventory report. Do this, and the guesswork will be taken out of the hands of the experts !

Hi Friends - Been a while as most of my work and efforts over the last three years have been on the my gas prediction site TGPT.CA, pro bono consular work and as Board member to the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans care in the riding on Lawson Rd as well as national Program Co-Chair for Wounded Warriors canada With my former riding now redistributed into two parts; Pickering-Uxbridge to the east and Scarborough Rouge Park on the west, which is made up mostly of my old Scarborough East and the eastern half of Scarborough Rouge River, the time has come to begin making a critical decision as to my return to public life. The Party under our Leader Justin Trudeau has never looked more promising and I believe that his message of fighting for ordinary Canadians and the middle class resonates with Canadians. Given my track record and reputation in helping Canadians make ends meet, be it for their fuel, prescription, education savings, cable, cell or internet bills, I am truly proud that my Party for which I have dedicated most of my entire life ... since 1978, is embarking on a path to help Canadians manage with a vision the puts them first in the Canada of tomorrow. Looking forward to your thoughts, opinions and advice on the next steps we take together in Scarborough Rouge Park - a place where grew up, was educated and worked all my life.

Gas Prices Are Too Damn High, am I right? At this time last year, you could expect to pay about $1/litre - today, $1.30/litre. So why the increase? In this podcast, Dan McTeague, the man behind Tomorrow's Gas Price Today, helps us understand the many factors behind rising gas prices.
