Many people are wondering what exactly are the policies of the federal party leaders concerning the CBC. The Friends of Canadian Broadcasting have invited each of the five leaders whose parties hold seats in the House of Commons to participate in a 30-minute webcast in order to convey to FRIENDS’ one-third of a million supporters their views and policies about CBC’s future. Please mark the evening of Monday, February 2nd at 5:15pm PST on your calendar. That’s when Thomas Mulcair, the Leader of the Official Opposition and the NDP – who is the first to accept our invitation – will be interviewed one-on-one by a leading figure in Canadian journalism in this exclusive and interactive FRIENDS production. During this series of interviews, starting with Mr. Mulcair, we’ll hear the federal party leaders complete the phrase “If I were Prime Minister, the CBC would be…” If you have a question for Mr. Mulcair, you will be able to submit it on social media before or during the interview. You can even send us your video recorded question in advance. I will be in touch soon to send you the link for this webcast and all the details you will need in order to tune in and participate at 5:15pm PST on Monday, February 2nd. Yours sincerely, Ian Morrison Spokesperson FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting is an independent watchdog for Canadian programming and is not affiliated with any broadcaster or political party. 200/238-131 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON, M5S 1R8, 866-833-1282 http://www.friends.ca/

Great to have an inquiry into the Mt Polley tailing pond disaster, but will the BC Liberals (and the Harper Conservatives) acknowledge that environmental regulations serve a purpose and that when inspections are reduced and/or eliminated problems can arise?
