ndpI was shocked to hear the news of Jack's passing. I, like many others, thought he was invincible, that he would beat this bout of cancer as he had in the past. I am really saddened and heart broken by this news and I offer my deepest sympathy to his family.Aug 22, 2011 3:30 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River

ndpCanvassing today - thank goodness the sun is shining and snow isn't falling the way it did in Dawson Creek on Thursday. Don't forget that tomorrow is the big day - get out and vote and make sure you get others out as well. Expecting good things to happen across Canada on Monday.May 01, 2011 11:39 am | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
ndpHad a wonderful time canvassing with new provincial leader Adrian Dix in PG yesterday. We were on "Harper" Street and I can tell you that Stephen Harper is not a favourite on this street. ndpHeart wrenching day doorknocking today. Talked to a young mom who has parked her car because she simply can't afford the gas! Does it not seem a little strange that Harper thinks it's ok to subsidize the gas industry?Apr 26, 2011 9:42 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
ndpYou can watch tonight's all candidates forum online starting at 7pmApr 26, 2011 1:08 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River

ndpTwo all candidate meetings down and four to go. Met lots of seniors today and really got an earful about the state of their lives. All their expenses are rising and many are having a tough time making ends meet. It's time we treated our seniors with respect and gave the the support to allow them to live with dignity.Apr 18, 2011 10:19 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River

ndpSpent some time at the Dawson Creek Trade Show Friday night and Saturday. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a booth there so spent time talking to exhibitors - learned lots about some businesses there as well as some non-profit organizations. Was at both Sikh Temples today and will be on Meisner tomorrow a.m.Apr 17, 2011 9:15 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
ndpDecision should be clearer now. Jack Layton promised British Columbians that if elected, he would not penalize B.C. for voting against the HST by taking away the 1.6 B Harper bribe. Harper says he will take back the bribe money and penalize B.C. - even after gathering millions in extra taxes since the tax was implemented!Apr 16, 2011 8:50 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River

ndpHad a wonderful day talking to seniors today. Sad to say that many of them are in pretty desperate situations - expensive drugs; homecare needs; and not enough money to pay for these things as well as buy food. Shameful that this is happening in a country as rich as this!Apr 13, 2011 9:33 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
ndpAnother great day on the doorsteps! Not too often you find someone who greets you with "Finally - I've never had a politician come to my door". ndpHave talked to lots of small business people in the last couple of weeks and I'm finding strong support for our party. They don't like the HST; do not support tax breaks for the multi-nationals; and are looking for some relief for themselves. They are happy to see that someone is on their side.Apr 11, 2011 9:52 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River

ndpAnother interesting day on the doorstep. Found some surprising supporters - those I would have considered Conservatives but are giving me their support because they know I will be a strong representative for this region and some others who are simply fed up with Stephen Harper's undemocratic style of government.Apr 07, 2011 11:37 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
ndpWe need to be tough on crime, and tough on the causes of crime. Instead of waiting for problems to happen, like the Harper Conservatives, I believe in being proactive and working with police and local governments to tackle crime before it starts.Apr 07, 2011 1:30 pm | British Columbia, Prince George-Peace River
