Le calendrier complet des consultations sera disponible aujourd'hui. Donnez dès maintenant votre opinion sur le site. Quels changements non-budgétaires vous inquiètent le plus ? ndpThe Harper government seems scared of oversight and of public scrutiny on the Omnibus Budget Bill. If they won’t let us do our job in parliament then we have to take it outside. We are going to ensure that Canadians know what this government is trying to keep behind closed doors. I'm happy to announce with Peggy Nash and Guy Caron that we are taking the study of the Trojan Horse Budget Bill to the public and holding a series of hearings across the country. We've also launched http://budget2012.ndp.ca/ so that Canadians far and wide can have a say on this budget and learn more about what is hidden inside the 400+ pages.May 15, 2012 7:56 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley - MP

ndpThe NDP plan to make life difficult for the Harper government and its wide-ranging budget bill, throwing up procedural roadblocks with the hope of splitting up the massive document and drawing public attention to some of its more controversial aspects. “Both in Parliament, and, in particular, outside,” said Nathan Cullen, “we will be looking at ways to bring as many Canadians to the table as possible, which is the opposite initiative to that coming from government.”May 14, 2012 7:27 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley - MP

ndpThis morning I stood up with colleagues Guy Caron and Peggy Nash to call for the government to do the right thing: split out non-budget portions of omnibus bill C-38 and have them studied in committee. Huge portions aren't budget measures at all! If Harper's conservatives want to make major policy shifts like changing environmental legislation to make it easier for pipeline projects to go through, then do it in a separate bill, not in a large omnibus that limits scrutiny.May 07, 2012 8:05 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley - MP

ndpThe Gitga'at nation have reported an oil spill in Hartley Bay 2-5 miles long and 200 feet wide. It threatens 40% of their traditional food supply. Enbridge is doing everything it can to bring oil tankers the size of the Eiffel tower into the area. Do we really want to take this risk? Not a chance. This spill was caused by a ship that sank during WWII. The governement said they'd clean it up over two years ago. ndpCelebrations in the evening started with this huge cake. We've got more people to feed! Our first year as Official Opposition has been filled with challenges and victories. A loss of our dear friend Jack and a welcome to Tom as our new leader. Standing up for seniors facing pension changes, for continued strong and independent Environmental Assessments, especially for the Enbridge Northern Gateway Joint Review Panel, for postal and Air Canada workers, and to protect federal services for rural and remote Canadians. ndpI'm happy to see that the B.C. NDP has formally submitted their opposition to the Enbridge Pipeline to the NEB Joint Review Panel. The letter outlines six key concerns regarding the Northern Gateway Project: - Lifting the current tanker moratorium will put B.C.’s coastline at serious risk of devastating environmental and economic damage from oil spills; - The pipeline will traverse remote, highly valued areas of B.C., crossing almost 800 streams, putting these valuable environments and species, such as salmon, at risk; - First Nation communities would be most severely affected by an oil leak or spill. First Nations must be consulted effectively and be respected on a government-to-government level , as has been affirmed by the Supreme Court of Canada; - Greenhouse gas emissions generated by NGP-related oil sands development will contribute to the costs of climate change; - The NGP provides few long-term, sustainable economic benefits for B.C., and forgoes value-added economic activity involving upgrading and refining in Canada; - Canadian consumers will see increased Canadian oil prices.May 01, 2012 7:36 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley

ndpThis morning I had a Pres Conference on ensuring decorum in the House of Commons. What we are suggesting to the Speaker and to the other Leaders in the House is that those MPs who continue to ignore the Speaker’s calls for decorum will have questions taken away from them, or their parties, if they refuse to fall in line.Apr 30, 2012 9:38 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley - MP
ndpIt’s becoming increasingly typical of the Harper government to push through legislation without adequate debate or study. If the changes to Environmental Assesment could stand on their own merits and it was something the government was proud of, they would make it its own legislation and not include it with the Budget.Apr 30, 2012 8:35 am | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley - MP

ndpFin Donnelly, the NDP Critic for Fisheries and Oceans, is 100% correct when he said that the changes to the Fisheries Act is "about the fast-tracking of the Conservatives' agenda for pipeline projects." I couldn't agree more with him more that we should specifically address the issues that farmers, or developers, or road-builders, or industry have with the Act but we should not go through with this wholesale slaughter of the Act.Apr 26, 2012 12:23 pm | British Columbia, Skeena—Bulkley Valley
