NOTICE: A recent post noting Sue’s involvement in the Step Up To The Plate campaign was inadvertently cross-posted from Sue’s personal Facebook page. There was no intention to exploit a non-partisan event for political purposes. Sue’s record of over 30 years as an advocate for the poor and hungry stands on its own merits.

Many thanks to Hillcrest School, the Times & Transcript, People’s Park Tower and many others who led the way in this effort. Tomorrow is a big day for the Food Depot Alimentaire as Atlantic Lottery is hosting a major event to help us with our captial campaign.

David Alward is continuing to show leadership for our energy future, including NB Power. Following his meeting with Danny Williams, we will be hosting an Energy Summit (http://bit.ly/blNUVX) this weekend with experts in energy and finance. Our goal is to find the best ideas and solutions for a 10 year plan that will strengthen our energy advantage and keep power rates low. Please join the conversation on Moderator (http://goo.gl/mod/I2Yf) under the Energy/NB Power topic.

PC Leader David Alward and former Energy Minister, Bruce Fitch, travelled to Newfoundland and Labrador this morning to meet with Premier Danny Williams and NALCOR CEO Ed Martin. The goal of the talks was to discuss a potential regional partnership which would strengthen the energy sector in both provinces. David Alward said he is committed to exploring all options to lower power rates for New Brunswickers. This is the first of several visits the PC Leader has planned for consulting with neighbouring provincial and state leaders.

Nova Scotia has about 200,000 more people than New Brunswick, and they function with only 12 Cabinet Ministers. We believe we can do better. Better than our Atlantic neighbours and certainly better than the waste and mismanagement of the Shawn Graham government. You have our commitment that no government department will be underrepresented or left behind.

Recently PC Leader, David Alward, announced that he would reduce the number of Cabinet Ministers from 21 to 15; saving at least $5 million taxpayer dollars. Immediately the Liberals tried to scare seniors and energy consumers by spreading rumours that we would cut their representation in government. This could not be farther from the truth.
