  This evening at 8 pm, I will be interviewed on a Global TV special regarding a group of risky prescription drugs. The show will also be rebroadcast on Saturday evening at 7 pm. Since being elected in 2008, I've continued to work, in Ottawa, to raise the safety bar with regards to patient safety warnings when prescriptions are sold. Prescription drugs taken as prescribed are the fourth leading cause of death in North America, most of them covered up by the doctors and drug companies. I hope you'll be able to watch Global's 16x9 and learn about this important topic.

  On Wednesday, February 29th I sponsored a film screening for the movie Sharkwater on the Hill. The screening was attended by MPs and staff. My reason for this screening stems from a visit to Dearcroft Montessori School in Oakville. I gave a brief talk and then spent about an hour answering questions. To my surprise, the students asked me about sharks because they'd seen the film Sharkwater. After visiting Deercroft School and speaking with the folks in Oakville from Fin Free Canada (some of whom attended the screening in Ottawa) I realized we should listen to the younger generation...people like Robert Stewart and our children. Because when we are all gone, our planet belongs to them. We owe it to them to work with other nations and protect the balance of life in our oceans.
