Today, I tabled Bill C-263, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (hearing impairment), which would enhance access inclusiveness for people with hearing disabilities by allowing them fair access to the Disability Tax Credit. Canadians with hearing impairments should receive the tax break they deserve. This bill recognizes the reality that these Canadians face, and I am proud to sponsor a bill that prioritizes their well-being. These changes represent a long overdue need that deaf and hard-of-hearing Canadians be treated fairly and equitably by our tax system https://peterjulian.ca/Bill_C263_An_Act_to_amend_the_Income_Tax_Act_hearing_impairment

Why isn't the Liberal government investigating Canada Revenue Agency officials who attended receptions at exclusive club? Here's my question today on this matter: https://peterjulian.ca/node/856

My office has been receiving a steady flow of complaints over the years from constituents, demonstrating a serious concern in our community regarding the health and environmental effects of increased coal traffic in the Port Metro Vancouver area. Fraser Surrey Docks is proposing to expand coal exports to ship up to eight million metric tonnes of US thermal coal. Coal dust is a known health hazard, containing toxins such as lead, sulphur, and mercury. If you are worried about what the approval of shipping US thermal coal from the Fraser Surrey Docks will do to the water we drink and the air that we breathe, please sign the following e-petition (e-186) that I am sponsoring in Parliament here: https://petitions.parl.gc.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-186 I need your support to have your voices heard in Parliament. The e-Petition e-186 is posted on the parliamentary website until June 15th, 2016, after which it will no longer be available for signature. I invite you to share this link as broadly as possible by emailing it to your friends and others in the community. https://petitions.parl.gc.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-186

I need your support to have your voices heard in Parliament. I am sponsoring the e-petition e-187 on Parliament’s website: https://petitions.parl.gc.ca/en/Petition/Details?Petition=e-187 I have reintroduced in this new Parliament my Private Member’s Bill, C-218 (formerly C-393) which aims to prohibit railway companies from engaging in noisy rail yard activities in residential areas between the hours of 10:00 pm and 8:00 am, Monday to Friday, and at any time on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. https://peterjulian.ca/Sign_EPetition_187_Railway_Noise_and_Vibration_Control_Act We must keep the pressure on to persuade the new federal Government to act decisively and address this urgent matter of public health. I invite you to share this link as broadly as possible by emailing it to your friends and the community.

We are moving! Due to the riding boundary change, my community office is moving to #110-888 Carnarvon Street, New Westminster. After almost 12 years serving over 10,000 families at 7615 Sixth Street in Burnaby, our last day working at this location will be on Friday, April 15th, 2016. Our community office will be closed for the move during the week of April 18th to 25th. We will start our service again at our new office on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016. The new location is close to 8th Avenue and Carnarvon Street. It is easily accessible by transit, and right beside the New Westminster Skytrain Station. You can also take bus #106 to New Westminster. Our phone number will remain the same - 604-775-5707. Looking forward to seeing you at our new location!
