Tomorrow is a very important day. Why? Because on Sunday, Liberals in Etobicoke-Lakeshore will decide who is the best candidate to defeat Harper in 2015. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and work hard to build a better Etobicoke-Lakeshore and a better Canada, but I can’t do this alone. I need your support tomorrow. Every single vote is going to count. In fact, YOUR vote could make the difference. For the sake of our community and our country, please make your voice heard by casting your vote tomorrow between 12 Noon and 4 pm at Franklin Horner Community Centre, 432 Horner Avenue. Remember, to be eligible to vote you MUST bring ID that proves your identity and address. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. We can do this – together.

Have our elections been reduced to little more than popularity contests? Or, do issues and BIG ideas still matter when you go to the polls? I believe that ideas and issues DO matter to Canadian voters – especially after almost a decade of Harper’s Government ruling this country in silence and secrecy. I also believe that voters deserve to know where a candidate stands on the major issues and what ideas they’re bringing to the table – before they ask you to put a big X beside their name on a ballot. To that end, I hosted a live public Telephone Town Hall forum on Monday evening, taking questions from Liberal members across Etobicoke-Lakeshore. It was a lively, interesting conversation and I truly enjoyed being able to discuss many of the issues concerning local residents like you. If you weren’t able to participate in the Telephone Town Hall Broadcast, you can listen to it here: http://yourlisten.com/GeorgeTakach/georgetakachtelephone-townhall We only have a few days left between now and the Nomination Meeting. When we vote on Sunday, let’s vote for the best candidate: the candidate who can win this riding back from Harper’s Conservatives in 2015. Our party, our community and our riding deserve nothing less. I hope I can count on your support on Sunday. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and go to work.

Endorsements are always welcome – and appreciated – but I believe that Canadians are smart enough to make up their own minds about who they think is the best candidate for an elected position – without having to take someone else’s word for it. The best way to decide who REALLY is the best candidate? Find out where they stand on ALL of the big issues that matter to you and your community. A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers and Liberal Party members who have contacted me in recent days to offer their support, now that the Nomination Meeting for Etobicoke-Lakeshore has been called. When we started our campaign to work to build a better community and a better Canada over 18 months ago, we knew we had a long road ahead of us. But now that the Nomination Meeting has been called for November 30th, I can honestly say that this has been one of the most truly inspiring periods in my life. Meeting and talking with so many different people – from all walks of life in every community of Etobicoke-Lakeshore – has only reinforced my belief that Canadians care deeply about this great country and that they have had enough of Harper’s Government. It’s time for a new vision for our country. It’s time for new leadership in Ottawa. It’s time to turn Etobicoke-Lakeshore Liberal red again. http://bit.ly/1x4Jn3s
