Tonight I am proud to be able to introduce an exceptional Canadian leader for our times, He has overseen the best post-recession job creation record in the G7. He has reduced federal taxes to levels last seen under Diefenbaker (before even I was born!). On his watch, our cities are safer, more dynamic, bigger start-up hubs than ever before: for quality of life, Toronto has been rated the best city in the world. Thanks to his leadership it's now easier to come to Canada as an immigrant, businessperson, tourist, student or visitor – the numbers speak for themselves! Thanks to his efforts, Canada-India relations are scaling new heights. With India, he is pursuing enhanced economic partnership and global financial reform. With Prime Minister Modi, he is an outspoken opponent of terrorism in all its forms. During his visit to this mandir in 2008 Dr Abdul Kalam made a famous statement about righteousness. In his last book, he writes that «righteousness is cultivated in our lives by our actions.» Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends, please join me in welcoming a leader whose actions are admired around the world, our Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Stephen Harper.
